Spirulina Uses and Benefits

I have been researching, reading, and listening to different podcasts of the best naturopathic doctors in the state recently. Not only because of the coronavirus , but, because I have always had a passion in nutrition and supplements. So in the next few weeks, I will share all of these information with you. My hope is not only to help everyone in the most difficult times, but, also to promote healthy living/lifestyle moving forward.

Spirulina is one superfood that has been mentioned over and over as a maintenance product to increase immunity. Spirulina is a type of algae that is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can help protect cells from damage.

Examples of the many benefits include : powerful antioxidant/anti-inflammatory, can lower bad cholesterol ( LDL) and triglycerides, may have anti-cancer property, may reduce blood pressure, and may be effective against anemia.

Its main component is called phyococyanin, which can fight free radicals hence providing impressive antioxidant & anti-inflammatory effects.

A single tablespoon ( 7 gram) contains : 4 gram protein, vitamin B1, B2, B3, copper, iron , magnesium, potassium, and small amounts of almost every nutrient you need. Gram for gram, spirulina may be the single most nutritious food on the planet. A standard daily dose of spiriluna is 1-3 grams.

Some of the minor side effects of spirulina may include nausea, insomnia, and headaches. Still, this supplement is widely considered safe, and most people experience no side effects.

Consult with your doctor before starting any supplements. The content of my page is for informational/educational purposes. Nothing should be constructed as medical advise.
