Skin Care Tips While Wearing Mask

How to take care of your skin while wearing a mask ?

Many people are now experiencing firsthand the discomfort and skin irritations that can be caused by mask-wearing.

My first recommendation is by wearing masks made out of natural fibers, such as cotton, bamboo, or natural silk to reduce likelihood of irritation. Face coverings properly fashioned out of these materials could provide adequate protection for wearers.

Practice good hygiene : Make sure your hands are clean while putting and removing your masks.

A person should ideally wash their face with a gentle cleanser and soap their hands before putting on a mask and after taking it off. Be thorough in cleansing your nostrils and mouth as well.

Also, you might consider upgrading your daily facial routine by using an electric facial cleansing brush, to make sure you are getting rid of excess dirt and oil. My favorite cleansing brush is by Vanity Planet Raedia Facial cleansing brush. You can use my link and see all their products and use my code "RESET30" for discount . I also use their Aira Facial steamer ( Make sure you read my blog post on benefits of steaming from 3/28/20)

Before you go out during the day, put on moisturizer and an oil-free primer. Also, don't forget to use a mineral sunscreen. I don't usually recommend a heavy make up these days, since most of your face is covered under a mask.

Its also important now more than ever to use gentle exfoliating mask to purify and energize your skin. I have been enjoying the Glacial MudMask by zionhealth, which is safe for all skin types.

This mask contains natural minerals that help clear the skin and prevent wrinkles. Its trace minerals help stimulate skin cell renewal.

I hope these skin tips put you in the right directions for keeping your skin healthy, and irritation free. With any new product or device use common sense to read all directions and ingredients before use.

Stay safe and healthy. Dr. Naghmeh, Pharm.D.
