Matcha Tea Improves Your Health

Hope everyone is doing well, and keeping safe during the Pandemic. Today I like to talk about the benefits of Matcha, which has skyrocketed in popularity lately.

Like green tea, matcha comes from the Camellia Sinensis plant. However its grown differently and has a unique nutrient profile . Matcha contains the nutrient from the entire tea leaf, which results in a greater amount of caffeine and antioxidants than typically found in green tea.


There are many health benefits of Matcha , all based on science :

1- High in antioxidants

2- May help protect the liver

3- Boosts brain function

4- May help prevent cancer

5- May promote heart health

6- Helps you lose weight

7- Boosts immune system

8- Helps in maintaining healthy metabolism in diabetic individuals

9- Useful for treating gastrointestinal disorders

10- Provides relief from stress and improves mental alertness


By consuming matcha powder, you are really ingesting the whole tea leaf --along with everything it contains. Using Organic matcha may reduce your risk of exposure to pesticides, but, even organic leaves may still contain substances from the soil that are harmful when ingested in large amounts.

Therefore, it is NOT recommended to drink more than 2 cups ( 474ml) of matcha per day.

While individual tolerance varies, high levels of the plant compounds found in matcha may cause nausea, and symptoms of liver or kidney toxicity.

Matcha may have even more benefits than regular green tea, just make sure you are not consuming more than 2 cups (474ml) per day.
