Lots of you are asking what the public health officials and doctors say about receiving packages.
Since most people are forced to stay home and on line shopping has been increasing, we have to take proper measures to protect ourselves and our family.
Ask the person to leave the box outside. Then touch them while wearing gloves. Wipe down the contents of the box with disinfectant and bring the content inside the house. With regular mail, my suggestion would be to also handle everything with gloves and discarding the outside envelope as soon as we can.
It never hurts to be extra cautious, we don't know where/whom has been handling packages. Unfortunately, as you have heard lots of people show no symptoms for a long time, but, they can still shed the virus.
