Can Deodorant Cause Breast Cancer ? Part II

Updated: May 1, 2020

Back in february I wrote a blog about this topic, but, I was asked by many of you to talk about it more.

In reality, there are too many conflicting results and more research is needed. According to Dr. Chirag Shah MD. oncologist, family history and hormone replacement therapy are much more important factor in causing breast cancer. In a study of more than 1,600 females in 2002, they could not find any link between antiperspirant use and breast cancer.

There is a lot of information out there that aluminum containing antiperspirant prevent toxins from being expelled by the body and these toxins clog up the lymph nodes around armpits and breast, and cause breast cancer. There is absorption of aluminum topically when exposed to intact skin. Based on studies, most of the aluminum buildup was in the upper outer quadrant. 61% of breast cancer occur in the upper outer quadrant which raised the hypothesis for the research done on this subject.

Its not just breast cancer, a recent study found a high concentration of aluminum in the fluid of cystic breast. Why would we want to block our bodies perfect function of sweat and detox ? Using antiperspirant works against the bodies mechanisms for health.

Aluminum isn't the only problem though. Most conventional deodorants contain a form of the following : Triclosan, paraben, benzyl-, benzo-, fragrance. Be careful with these chemicals as they have the potential to absorb and cause hormonal and DNA disruption.

The problem with most studies is that they isolate one chemical or a family of them and make conclusion based on that . When in reality, there is so much toxins in our diet, environment, and cosmetic. All these work in synergy such that the effect is much more drastic.

Stick with a natural deodorant if anything. My vegan, aluminum free deodorant is by Zionhealth, and you can use my code "DRNAGHMEH", for 10% off at their entire website.
