Benefits of CoQ10 supplement, which form should you take?

I have already talked about the benefits of CoQ10 in my previous posts. Your cells use QoQ10 for growth and maintenance, and the levels decrease as you age. But, its not only aging, certain types of medication can also deplete your body of CoQ10 : Diabetic drugs, Psychotherapeutic drugs, Stain drugs for high cholesterol.

Benefits of taking CoQ10 : It helps in decreasing blood pressure, decreases bad cholesterol, decreases symptoms of migraine and the number of attack, benefits female fertility, and used in depression and fibromyalgia.


The other question is which form of CoQ10 is best : Ubiquinol or Ubiquinone ? Most manufacturers promote the Ubiquinol form, telling consumers its the best CoQ10 supplement because its what's your body makes naturally. Also, the biggest claim about Ubiquinol's benefits is that it can be absorbed up to eight times better than other forms of CoQ10. Yet, there is no solid evidence to back up that claim.

What matters is how much CoQ10 your body absorbs from whatever supplement you take.

How much should you take daily : Healthy people under age 60 should take 50-100mg. Over age 60 or on statin drug 100-200mg.
