Are Pharmacists Health Care Providers ?

Primary Health Care is defined as a patient's first point of contact with the health care system.

As such, Pharmacists are an integral part of primary health care.

Pharmacists see their patients more frequently, than they see any other health care practitioner.

A population data study showed that pharmacists see patients with diabetes at least twice as frequently as general practitioners and 36% more than physicians.

Some patients have to wait months to see their primary care providers. In the meantime, pharmacists are available and able to manage medications, and provide prevention and wellness.

In most states pharmacists are already classified as providers. Yes, Pharmacists are Health Care Providers.
